I notice people are still being a bit shy about starting their own threads in untouched sections, so I figured I ought to go ahead and break this one in too and get some discussion going lol. ;D So I want to know what you think is the best video game of all time! To make this fair, you have to judge the game by its own time period. For instance, don't judge Super Mario Bros graphics against Skyrim; 1980s graphics vs 21st century graphics isn't a fair comparison, of course. So make your pick based on the impact the game had on the world and the industry in its own era. I'm going to have to pick The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for Nintendo 64. It was a revolutionary title in the 1990s. It did things that had never been done in a video game before, and was one of the first open-world 3D games ever made. At the time it was probably the most complex game in existence. It is still, to this day, an extremely challenging game. I remember how long it took me to beat it when I was a kid because it was so damn hard! And those creepy "redeads" and "stahlkids" used to scare the living daylights out of me and give me goosebumps! Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!! lol! I remember when it would turn into night-time in Hyrule field I would be sure to only run on the roads because a Stahlchild only spawns from the dirt/grass. If I had to I would wait for daylight on the road so I wouldn't have any coming after me lol, or I'd play the sun song! haha, memories... ;D

Great pick probably my number 2 My absolute favorite would have to be Dark Chronicle for the PS2. It was so amazing, RPG, Action, Adventure. You built your own towns, went around doing stuff for people to let them join your towns. Build up your weapons and evolve them, so many weapons to choose from. Invent weapons and items from photos of objects you have. Build a fighting robot, upgrade him with inventions too. Go fishing, catch your fish, raise him, feed him, let him go in races and win prizes, cross breed fish to get some weird looking one ;D Go through amazing dungeons collecting items to do all of the above, while beating the crap out of a huge variety in monsters. You could also transform into those monsters, then talk with them, learn stuff from them, train your monster up to evolve him into something cooler, again, so many different monster to choose from, and the different evolution chains were huge. Customize the look of your character. Not to mention epic boss battles. Forgot one last thing, you could play an awesome version of gulf, it was hard to win but when you did, the prizes were amazing. And the excitement of opening a chest and not knowing whats inside. Building your own towns was definitely the coolest thing. Their was so many god damn things you could do, best 2003 game of all time! Building a town A robot someone made And another one Can't find any more pictures for some reason. I wish I still had it, but when I saw younger I sold me ps2 and all the games, thinking I wouldn't play them any more. God jesus, I was wrong. I recommend the game to anyone with a functioning brain

Deus Ex In short, no other game every came close to touching it in terms of innovation, plot, and more importantly, choice and effect. It redefined the RPG genre - 12 years later people are still emulating it and being called innovative and original. And I'm not calling this my favorite game of all time, the sequel Human Revolution is my favorite game, but Deus Ex was unrivaled in making you feel like you were an important part of the plot. And not just by player involvement, but by actually making the choices important. The choices I made stuck with me, even when I was away from the computer. They weighed on my conscience. To the point where I would reload saves to reverse bad things I'd done in-game. The plot was mature and realistic, but still incredibly interesting, and reacted very well to the player's humanity...or lack thereof. Then combine that with the all-options approach to gameplay - limitless ways to tackle each situation with the interactive environment and great for it's time AI. This game blows every other game out of the water in terms of just being a masterpiece. It's a definite must play. The second sequel, Human Revolution, sends chills up my spine just thinking about. Personally I prefer it, but it did come 11 years later, lol. I also feel like I need to mention the Mass Effect series. #1 actually brought a tear to my eye, on Ilos.
